Calendar of Events

Outline of events for the 2017 Summer Research Academy. All dates are tentative and final schedule will be made available upon start of program.   

     April 14, 2017
     Final application date. All applications must be received by this date.  

May 2, 2017
Research assignments and Acceptance Packets are mailed to applicants selected to participate in the 2017 Academy.

May 19, 2017
Acceptance Packets must be received for all students planning to participate in the 2017 Academy. If any students are unable to attend, additional applicants will be invited to participate in the 2017 Academy pending research project availability.

June 12, 2017    "Move-In Day"
All students will arrive on campus and get settled-in. Final payment for the Academy is due on or before this date.

Schedule for the day: (tentative)

8:00am-9:30am Arrive on campus and get settled. Thomas Jefferson Hall front desk. All remaining permission forms will be signed when you check-in. Parents: feel free to depart campus any time after your child is checked-in. Campus staff and SRA coordinators will be available at Thomas Jefferson Hall to answer questions before you depart. 
9:45am-11:45am Orientation and Rules: Students will sit down with SRA coordinators and summer staff to go over program rules & expectations, schedule, campus tour, gets ID cards, etc...and have the opportunity to get to know fellow participants. 
11:45am-1:00pm Lunch with SRA staffStudents will return to TJ Hall for lunch with SRA staff
1:00pm-4:00pm Meet with DepartmentStudents will meet with their faculty/graudate student advisor to discuss projects and lab expectations.
