Application Process

The final application deadline for the 2008 Academy is April 1, 2008. Applications will be given priority consideration for research assignments by the date received. Participants will be notified of selection and research assignments as this information becomes available. A completed application should include:

  • An official high school transcript. Students applying for regular undergraduate admission to Missouri S&T for the Fall '08 semester need not send an additional transcript.
  • Completed Application Form.
  • Required Essay: A 300-word summary of your research interests and interest in attending the Summer Research Academy
  • Resume: A one-page research and academic resume detailing academic awards, unique opportunities and leadership activities

Confirmation materials and specific information on attending the Academy will accompany your acceptance letter. We look forward to your application and seeing you on our campus this summer!

Admission Requirements:

Applicants to the Academy must meet one of the following requirements during the 2007-08 academic year:

  1. Be enrolled at a member institution of NCSSSMST
  2. Have earned a composite ACT score of 30+ or earned a composite SAT I (CR+M) composite of 1410+

Should I apply if I'm still unsure about whether or not I'll attend the Academy?

Yes! Any student who has an interest in attending the Academy should submit an application. Acceptance to the program does not obligate you to attend as many students will consider several summer opportunities. With your acceptance letter and research assignment, information will be included about securing your spot in the 2008 Academy. [more information]
