The Summer Research Academy at Missouri S&T is an opportunity for talented students across the country to conduct meaningful academic research. Each participant will be paired with a faculty mentor to conduct a research project in the sciences, mathematics, computing or engineering.

Missouri S&T believes that research is an essential opportunity that should be open to everyone, not just scholars or graduate students. Research is more than gathering data, analyzing trends or formulating new ideas, it is an experience! By taking ownership of your own project, we invite you to spend the summer molding your own experience.

We are working hard to plan social events, industry field trips, guest lectures, hands-on activities and a wonderful summer experience!

If you have questions about any thing you have read or if you've just thought of something we forgot to include, please feel free to [contact us]

Comments from past summer researchers:

"I do believe that this project has opened my eyes into the world of engineering and has helped ever so much in my greater decision of where I will head in the future."

"It was neat to to be playing around online one day and stumble across an article about the project I was working on in a major newspaper."

"I have a much deeper knowledge of programming and algorithms. While I worked on an on-going project that has been in the works for six years now, I got a rewarding experience out of it knowing I contributed to something great."

"This program opened a whole new world to me. I'm excited to return to classes this fall and apply what I learned in new ways."
